So this is my third attempt at writing this blog. I write one up on the ipad and then forget to submit it once we're in wifi, or have trouble submitting it.
An update from the last wee while:
We spent a little more time with the Miller family. Then a couple of nights up at my (Karlyn's) nanas. Then we've spent the last week with the Dixon parents. We had a lovely time going across to Twizel for a couple of nights. Another highlight was attending the wedding of some friends. The wedding will stand out for a couple of reasons. 1) we made it there about 15 mins before the ceremony started. I had to rush and get ready in the cafe toilet as I wasn't in my wedding clothes, didn't have make up on, or my hair in a presentable state. The 2nd thing and perhaps more standout-ish was that the lodge we stayed in had a composting toilet. Lets just say that was an interesting experience!!
So
we've started our journey abroad. Trust jetstar to stuff up. They
managed to leave pretty much an entire planes worth of luggage in
Christchurch. Including ours. Woo hoo. It's the following day now and at present we still don't have our luggage.
Prayer thanks
- for safe travel for ourselves.
- my (Karlyn) audit has made it through the first stage without me having to re submit anything which is fantastic.
- for good times with family and friends.
Prayer requests
- last week I (Karlyn) had a cold, it seems to be clinging on rather then completely disappearing so that it would go away completely.
- We had an email from Bethesda (the ministry I'll be working with) they asked us to pray for a vechile for them, they apparently need one urgently this is some of what they wrote
"we are struggling so much with transport to get to and from nakoli and to get children to and from Lusaka when we have surgery trips. OM are very short of vehicles and they are over-booked and often needing mechanical help. Having a vehicle soon would also make life much smoother when we have short term volunteers or groups coming to work with Bethesda."
So I thought I would pass it on to you wonderful prayers :)
- that my audit will continue to go well, so no action is required from me.
- Continued safety while we travel.
- that our luggage will catch up with us soon.
- for more of a good and relaxing time with Rae.
One thing I forgot to mention that stood out when we got to Hayman was how loud the wildlife (mainly birds) were. I've never heard anything like it. Jono says - "So screechy, I'm not sure whether they were trying to be annoying but they were doing a good job."
